This looks really neat! I like the artstyle thats a mix of graffiti and the 80s grossout asthetic that was popular around that era. I absolutly love the turtles being portrayed as younger teenagers in this version, theres just so much charm in their dialogue and that little home movie they’re making. Knee-GrowVerse didn’t change anything. The movie came out years ago and in the following years several movies from major studios still emphasised photorealism until the bad guys from dreamworks. LAIKA studio has been putting out movies with unconventional stop motion computer generated animation long before arachnid -basketballman verse.

this looks incredible! The comic book/doodle style is really good in the eyes and gives this a wonderful visual style. Can’t help but notice the lowered FPS, nice. One thing I need to add tho is that I am wondering the most about the story. The characters seem nice and I’m almost positive they’ll be a blast to watch, but I really want this movie to not just be “following the cinema trend” and having a unique style, since Spider-Verse did it and Puss in Boots: The Last Wish and Meet the Robinsons, but not a cool, well done story like they have. I really want this to be fun, especially since, while not a TMNT fan perse, I had my share of these turtles with the 2012(?) show and ROFTMNT got my attention as well.

I love this! Finally a TMNT project where they don’t sound and act like adult men (Rise did a good job of making them act like teens, but they still sounded like they were in their thirties). The only thing that’s going to take a little bit of getting used to is Mikey having the deepest voice of the four. I’m sure the actor is going to be great and I really like his lines in the trailer, I’m just used to Mikey always having a higher voice, if not the highest (with the exception of the original cartoon where he was the second lowest behind Leo). Like I said, just something I need to get used to.

Tho I agree with your having their own style statement, more studios doing movies like this is hopefully taking the animation industry into that direction. Before this, everyone was trying to copy Pixar and Disney’s style and it was actually hurting the studios because it limited them creatively, which is the opposite of “having their own style”. Movies looking like actual animation now (instead of trying to mimick the real world as much as possible) is allowing them to develop their own style, since just like no handwriting is the same, each frame is unique, and even more so when one scene is handled by more than one animator. So yes, this is movies ‘having their own style’. Now more than ever
